Out of Sync

A beautiful symphony of orchestrated dances, spinning nets with words more powerful than all; melodies created, choreographed interactions of gorgeous souls spinning in their endless dance of light, creating a lyrical heaven in which all instruments have their place, a role and a purpose.

Then there’s me, the lone note the composer forgot to cancel out of the rough draft. Screeching in contrast with the symphonic melody of life, casting a black shadow in the beauty of this Allegro.

That is how it feels to be out of tune, out of sync with the rest of the world. A very specific kind of loneliness which stems from the conviction something’s wrong with you, unrelatable. Out of sync with the rest of the world, unable to tune into their frequency.

And as the music goes on, so does life, spinning around you and leaving you feeling left out.

  1. Jazz is full of the “you” you’re expressing here. Resolution is ever more beautiful when it comes from discordances. Maybe start listening to some jazz to uncover that beauty …
